Real Estate Reporting with FinCEN began on March 1, 2026, certain real
estate professionals will be required to submit a report to FinCEN on
certain transfers of residential real estate that are a high-risk for
illicit finance-namely, non-financed transfers of residential real
property to legal entities and trusts. The information collected from
residential real estate reporting will help combat and deter money
laundering by increasing transparency in the U.S. residential real
estate sector. FinCEN will provide an overview of the new Residential
Real Estate Rule, including the circumstances in which a report must be
filed, who must file a report, what information must be provided, and
when a report is due.
