PA Land Title Association PAC

Exciting news! The Pennsylvania Land Title Association (PLTA) has started a Political Action Committee (PAC).  This nonpartisan PAC will directly represent the interests of the land title industry within the Commonwealth and is tasked to raise funds to support candidates for the state legislature and other offices within the Commonwealth who are in favor of PLTA positions.

Please visit the American Land Title Association’s Information Security page for more information on cyber fraud, and contact us at info@plta.org with any questions or concerns.   Please be vigilant and please do not respond, open attachments or click links included in a suspicious email.  Block all emails and report them on the Federal Bureau of Investigation Internet Crime Complaint Center website.

Philadelphia Fraud Guard: The City of Philadelphia released a free online “Fraud Guard” Tool and new website, www.phila.gov/deed-fraud, dedicated to assisting residents who are concerned about deed fraud. The City has also created a Deed Fraud Guard tip sheet that is available in multiple languages. Visit the website www.phila.gov/deed-fraud to create a free Fraud Guard account and receiving email notifications. If you receive notice of a document that you believe is fraudulent, you are encouraged to contact the City of Philadelphia Records Department to file a fraud report and receive instructions on how best to proceed to protect your rights (City Hall, Room 154, (215)-686-2261, records.info@phila.gov).

FinCEN Announces Postponement of Residential Real Estate Reporting Until March 1, 2026
On September 30, 2025, FinCEN issued exemptive relief from the requirements of the Residential Real Estate Rule until March 1, 2026. Accordingly, reporting persons are exempt from the requirement to file reports for reportable transfers that close prior to March 1, 2026. See www.fincen.gov/news for more details.
